Ewaso Ngiro Tannery and Leather Processing Plant

The Ewaso Ngiro Tannery and Leather Processing Plant is a project by the national government and Narok county to utilize hides and skins, which are mostly is left to waste for production of leather.

The plant  includes a tannery and leather factory building measuring 3200 sq.m with an Effluent treatment plant (ETP), and equipment and machines installation; other utilities and auxiliary infrastructure.

The tannery and leather factory will has an annual processing capacity of 4,000 tonnes of hides and skins to finished leather and when fully operational is expected to create 300 direct and over 5000 indirect employment opportunities and generate USD 8 Billion in foreign earnings.
