The Burundi Revenue Office (OBR) is the government department charged with reforming all tax and customs administrations with the objective of better serving taxpayers and improved collection of tax and customs revenues for the public treasury.\u00a0 The revenue office is also was also created for the purpose of reducing poverty through improved public revenue collection as well as an improved business environment in Burundi.<\/p>\n
The main task of the OBR is collecting taxes, advising the Government on all matters relating to all aspects of fiscal policy, promoting compliance with tax obligations and promoting investment and trade. Ultimately the OBR envisions becoming a modern, efficient and customer-oriented tax administration.<\/p>\n
